1. TRAVEL BUBBLE (名詞) 旅遊泡泡、旅遊氣泡。

題外話：珍珠奶茶為什麼叫 bubble tea?
Bubble tea 珍珠奶茶的 bubble 來自手搖飲料上面的那一層泡泡，不是表達珍珠 / 波霸！
我一直以來都誤會了…. 😱 😄

There is a common misconception 誤解 that the name “bubble tea” refers to the appearance 外貌 of the pearls (or boba), but it originates from 源自 the appearance 外貌 of bubbles in the milk and tea blend after it is removed from the shaking 搖晃的 machine 機器.

– QUARANTINE 是有跟確診者接觸過的隔離；keeps someone who was in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 away from others.
– ISOLATION 是已確診病患的隔離；keeps someone who is sick or tested positive for COVID-19 without symptoms away from others, even in their own home.

Pandemic 和 epidemic 有什麼差別？疫情的英文到底是什麼？

疫情正式翻譯是 epidemic。
那 epidemic 其實就是 pandemic 的前身，
區域性疫情爆發的時候叫 → epidemic
這個 epidemic 已經傳到很多國家 / 全球就叫 → pandemic

PS: 國際新聞在報導 COVID-19 常用 pandemic，比較少看到 epidemic。

3. REUNITE – REUNITING – REUNITED (動詞) 團聚，分開一段時間後又聚在一起了

朗讀文章說：
Families reunite as Australia-New Zealand ‘travel bubble’ begins

也常用在 music band 樂團解散後再次 reunite (團聚 / 合體)，
這時候會使用相關名詞，
Reunion (名詞) 團圓，
合體巡演英文就是 reunion tour。

4. SCORES OF (片語) 許多，大量。

⚠️ Scores of 的 scores 一定要用複數 plural 的 (加 s)
跟常見的「score (動詞) (名詞) 比分、體育賽事的分數」沒有直接意思上的關係！
至少我還沒想到關聯… 

朗讀文章裡說：

你可以把 scores of 想成 a lot of 的升級版！
可以用在人，如：

• Scores of passengers
• Scores of people were seen breaking curfew and partying on the streets last night. 昨晚有許多人在街上違反宵禁開派。

也可以用在非人 / 東西，如：

• Since starting my podcast, I have received scores of suggestions from listeners. 自從開始 podcast 以來，我收到了來自聽眾的大量建議。

5. RAMP UP (PHRASAL VERB 動詞短語) 短時間內大幅加快、增加、提高。

可以把 ramp up 想成 increase 的升級版。
朗讀文章裡出現是：

Qantas will ramp up flights between the countries to about 200 each week.

Ramp up 是 phrasal verb，所以 ramp 這個動詞可以做一些詞性變化：

• ramp up
• ramping up
• ramped up

例如：

Singapore has been ramping up testing for coronavirus to help curb spread. 新加坡一直在加強對冠狀病毒的檢測，以幫助抑制擴散。
