Murder 除了名詞，也是動詞喔～
murder, murdering, murdered。
相關字有：
Manslaughter (名詞) 過失殺人，誤殺。
⚠️ 這集播出後，有一位很棒的 listener 私訊我說：
“在台灣的法律中，只有過失致死、故意殺人。沒有過失殺人一詞。”
所以 manslaughter 在台灣的正式翻譯應該是「過失致死」😊
我們 manslaughter 這個單字拆解，就會變成
Man 男人、人類 +
Slaughter 屠宰、屠殺
這次報導說 Chauvin “guilty on all three counts”,
3項罪名都做出了判決，那是哪三項罪名呢？
- second-degree murder 第二級謀殺罪
- third-degree murder 第三級謀殺罪
- second-degree manslaughter 第二級過失殺人罪

Systemic racism
我們先說 racism.
Racism 拆解後變成 race + ism，
Race 是「種族」的意思，
-ism 字尾通常是「主義」，
所以 racism 是種族主義、種族歧視的意思。
💡 如果遇到單字它的 ending 是 ‘-ism’,
there’s a big chance (有很大的機率) it’s some kind of 主義！
如 sexism；
sex 是性別的意思，
所以 sexism 是性別主義、性別歧視。
接下來，systemic 這個形容詞是「有系統的、全面性的」的意思。
那 systemic racism 也叫 institutional (機構性的) racism。
我們拆解了單字，但好像都還沒真正解釋到 systemic racism 的意思? 😅
Sadly，我沒有找到太多中文的資訊，
所以我去找了 systemic racism 的 Wikipedia entry：
“Institutional racism, also known as systemic racism, is a form of racism that is embedded 勘入 through laws within society 社會 or an organization 組織. It can lead to 造成 such issues 問題 as discrimination 歧視 in criminal justice 刑事司法, employment 就業, housing 住宅, health care 醫療健保, political power 政治權利, and education 教育, among other issues.”

用白話文來說就是一種生活全方位的歧視，
無論受教育、就業、買房、去醫院等等的各方面都會受到歧視，
而且超越個人，是一種寫在法律規範裡面的歧視。

3. NO MORE SO THAN (片語)
這個片語使用格式為 A, no more so than, B
意思是 A 也有這個狀況，但 B 至少一樣或甚至更多，
類似「不超過」的意思。
No more so than 有一些常見的變化
意思是一樣的：
- none more so than
- never more so than
- nowhere more so than
朗讀文章出現在：
Tensions 緊張局勢 ran high in cities around the US, no more so than in Minneapolis, which also saw the killing of another Black man at the hands of police in nearby Brooklyn Center on April 11th.
意思是雖然美國其他城市局勢也很緊張，
但都不超過 Minneapolis。
4. HIT THE STREETS (片語)
意思是 人們到街上、走上街頭
朗讀文章裡：

也可以用來表達東西 「上架 、亮相 或 啟用」 ，
前面常常會搭配
finally 終於 或
recently 最近。
如送上例句：
Police body cameras finally hit the streets after several delays.
經過數次延誤後，警察身上攝影機終於啟用了。
5. A SIGH OF RELIEF (片語) 鬆一口氣
我們先說 sigh 是嘆氣的意思，
那 relief 則是「寬心、感到安慰」的意思。
A sigh of relief 前面通常會搭配動詞如：
Feel (感受) + a sigh of relief
這是朗讀文章裡出現的：
“Today, we feel a sigh of relief, but it can not take away the pain,” 今天，我們鬆了一口氣，但它無法消除痛苦
如果不想用 feel，也可以用
Breathe (呼吸) + a sigh of relief 或
Heave (舉起) + a sigh of relief
送上例句：
We all breathed /heaved a sigh of relief when we heard that they were safe. 當我們聽說他們安全時，所有人都鬆了一口氣。
